How much does the course cost ?

The currency quoted is GB Pounds.

  • What do the courses include ?
  • Fees include professional tuition, use of hand carving tools and provision of freshly quarried stone either in the newly refurbished Drill Hall Stone Workspace (indoor with outside carving terrace) or in the Tout Quarry open air workshop (with weather cover).  Please Note: there is  an additional cost for powered equipment re Stone Saw, Air Tooling, Rotary Equipment / Polisher, Fork Lift Truck, Drills, Consumables, etc;   
  • Reduced rates are for full-time students at a School, College or University and people with Unemployment Status, at the time of the course taking place.   (Note: fees do not include travel, personal medical insurance or accommodation) (Self Catering Accommodation offered by PSQT is in connection with courses only).

Where do courses take place ?

  • Summer courses May to September take place in the open air stone carving and sculpture workshop at the heart of of Tout Quarry Sculpture Park and Nature Reserve.  Indoor courses October to April take place in the well equipped Stone / Work / Space ate the Drill Hall.

When can longer courses start?

Our longer 4 Week Courses can start on any Monday from May to September.

(most Weekend Courses are 3 Day – but 2 Day and 1 Day Tasters can be fixed into any weekend by arrangement) (4 Day weekends are over UK Bank Holidays)

Weekend courses are ideal for INSET and CPD for Teachers, Lecturers, Architects and Designers – the course provides an introduction that can be followed by a one week course that gives a fuller experience of carving Portland stone – it’s fine detail carving qualities, geological formation, the quarry environment and working heritage.

Note: PSQT reserves the right to change details of course dates, daily times, course fees, course content, evening arrangements and location at Tout Quarry Sculpture Park & Nature Reserve (open air workshop with weather cover) or Stone / Work / Space at the Drill Hall (indoor carving studio with outdoor area).

Dates for WINTER / SPRING Courses 2020 – 2021 will be online in October 2020.
